Creeks to Coast Cleanup 2020 - Estero Bluffs and More!
In the past, Cayucos Land Conservancy has partnered with ECOSLO, sponsoring the cleanup of Estero Bluffs State Park and the portion of Highway 1 that runs along side of it for the Annual Statewide Creeks to Coast cleanup.
This is a chance for all of us to give our wonderful Cayucos coast and green space some loving attention, with 14 days to choose from!
Households can decide to hold their cleanup at a time that is convenient for them - maybe a morning cleanup with kids, an office back at work could organize a lunchtime cleanup, too. For some folks it will be better in the morning, after work, or the weekend.
ECOSLO CLEANUP KITS: ECOSLO is currently getting boxes and supplies together to offer the entire SLO County community - from San Miguel to Nipomo, from San Simeon to the Oceano Dunes - community cleanup kits that volunteers can use with their household. We anticipate kits being available at the end of August and early September.
Volunteers are encouraged to pick up litter they find in their local neighborhoods, parks, downtown areas, creeks, and coastlines - this way, we can maintain a healthy and safe event - and possibly cover more cleanup areas in the process!
Each cleanup kit will be set up for 5 people - we believe this will account for those with roommates, families, and for singles or smaller household units they can use the kit multiple times.
Cleanup kits will include a set of supplies - garbage bags and gloves, posters and stickers sharing the importance and reasons for cleanup, how to weigh trash at home and report it to ECOSLO,
Each kit will also include non-perishable and eco-minded goodies from event sponsors!
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer in any of the ways listed above, please feel free to contact Jamie, ECOSLO's awesome Creeks to Coast Cleanup Event intern - by email events@ecoslo.org or phone at (805) 544-1777.
