Holiday Walk on Estero Bluffs

Holiday Walk on the Estero Bluffs

WHEN: Saturday, December 9 at 10 am
WHERE: Fig Tree Parking Lot of Estero Bluffs State Park, 1.25 miles North of Cayucos

Dave Dabritz is a legendary State Parks docent. He welcomed us with a fun and surprising collection of bird and marine mammal skulls that he has restored. He told us all about them and what we might see out on the bluffs as we walk.

Chuck Woodard led our walk. He has been birding on the central coast for over 25 years, leading hikes for the Morro Bay Winter Bird Fest for over 10 years and leading Audubon outings all over the County for over 10 years. Chuck is a biologist who formerly worked for the California Condor Recovery Program for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He also does amazing bird calls!

Both Dave and Chuck were super-fun. The walk was at a casual pace, and we didn't get blown of the cliffs by the Santa Lucias!
